Recipes Korean Food

Korean Food?
When I was stationed in Korea years ago I used to love eatin’ dog soup. Does anyone have any recipes for dog soup?
Well now, what an interesting question. Sorry nothing with Dog (well actually I’m not sorry) but did find a Korean Stew recipe that calls for steak — it did not say Beef. I’ve listed it below. You can find it and many, many more Korean recipes at www.FoodDownUnder.com . They have recipes from all over the world. You can search for Korean or Korean Stew (or Yukkae Jang Kuk, if you want a closer look at the one below).
My thought is to leave the sweet pups alone and use a cat!
Yukkae Jang Kuk
1 kg Skirt or flank steak
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Ground black pepper
24 x Spring onions, sliced
1 tsp Sugar
125 gm Rice Vermicelli
2 tbl Sesame oil
2 tsp Chili powder(or to taste)
2 x Eggs, lightly beaten
Method :
Put whole piece of steak into saucepan with salt, pepper and just enough water to cover. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer until steak is very tender. Allow to cool, then shred with fingers into fibers. Return to the pot, add spring onions and sugar and simmer for 10 minutes. While simmering, soak rice vermicelli in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain.
Add to simmering pot. Mix sesame oil and chili powder together and add to stew. The rich red oil will float on top. Drizzle the beaten eggs into the bubbling stew, stirring so that it cooks in shreds. Serve with hot white rice.

OHG I looked a little further and did find a Phillippine recipe for Stewed Dog — it is on the same website. Just search for Dog Stew. Take their advice and substitute the Lamb — or Cat

Korean Wave $93.99 The Korean wave or Korea fever refers to the significantly increased popularity of South Korean culture around the world in recent time. It is also referred to as Hallyu, from the Korean pronunciation. The term was coined in China in mid1999 by Beijing journalists surprised by the fast growing popularity of South Koreans and South Korean goods in China. South Korea is among the worlds top ten cultural exporters and the Korean wave began with the export of Korean TV dramas such as Autumn Fairy Tale, Winter Sonata, Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace), Princess Hours and Boys Over Flowers across East and Southeast Asia; the growing success of Korean dramas was soon matched by Korean movies, popular music, food and language. While popular throughout Asia, the Korean waves influence is most visible in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, spreading to India, the Middle East, Central Asia, Iran, Israel, Turkey and Russia. The Korean wave is rapidly expanding beyond Asia through the internet and has a substantial presence in North, Central and South America, particularly in Chile, Mexico and Argentina, and is increasingly becoming popular in the United States. While noodles were eaten in Korea from ancient times, productions of wheat was less than other crops, so noodles did not become a daily food until 1945. Buckwheat and wheat noodles were specialty foods for birthdays, weddings or auspicious occasions because the long and continued shape were thought to be associated with the bliss for longevity and longlasting marriage.
