recipes french meat pie
hamburg,mashed potato pie?

I had a pie made with mashed potato’s and fried hamburg. I watched it being made, but I didn’t see all the spice’s she put in it, there were at least 4 plus salt and pepper.I think it was a French Canadian recipe. Best meat pie I ever had.

Was it shephard’s pie?

1 lb ground beef
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (14-16 ounce) can mixed vegetables (any vegetable works)
4 cups instant mashed potatoes (8 servings prepared) or homemade mashed potatoes
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic salt

Brown Ground Beef and add onion, cook until onion is transparent.
Add soup, veggies and garlic and mix, pour into a oblong baking dish.
Spread mashed potatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Looking for a Variation on this recipe? Try this: Instead of topping with mashed potatoes and cheese, top the casserole with a single layer of tater tots instead. This is also a big hit.

Red Meat

Red Meat

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Red meat is a traditional culinary terminology that refers to meat which is redcolored when raw and not colored white when cooked. Red meat includes the meat of many, but not all, mammals, and some fowl (e.g. ducks). This term is also used in the nutrition sciences, but with a slightly different definition. In gastronomy, red meat is darkercolored meat, as contrasted with white meat. The exact definition varies by time, place, and culture, but the meat of adult mammals such as cows, sheep, and horses is invariably considered red, while chicken and rabbit are invariably considered white. The meat of young mammals such as milkfed veal calves and sheep, and pigs is traditionally considered white; while the meat of duck and goose is considered red, though the demarcation line has been shifting. Game is sometimes put in a separate category altogether (French viandes noires black meats). Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. Squab Pie

Squab Pie

$74.88

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Squab pie is a traditional dish from South West England, with early records showing it was associated with Cornwall, Devon and Gloucestershire. Although the name suggests it contains squab (young domestic pigeon), in fact it contains mutton and apples. The pie was eaten around the world in the 1900s, though outside South West England it generally did contain pigeon. In his journal, Charles Dickens colourfully described the dish as being unsocial, and that it would result in hatred of the entire human race. It is no longer a popular dish, with less than 3 of British teenagers surveyed having eaten it. Squab pie has been the subject of poetry. John Taylor uses verse to tell of the captain of a ship in Plymouth who forgot to get meat for his trip. A boy on the ship goes into town to claim a large squab pie from the bakery for a penny, though it was not meant to be his. Set on a Sunday, the family who had commissioned the pie from the baker so that they would not have to cook, try to find it, but to no avail.
