Recipes Chinese Dipping Sauce

Chinese restaurant red sauce?
I’m looking for a recipe for the red dipping sauce that is served in most Chinese restaurants. It is usually served with crab rangoon or eggrolls. It is very bright red/pink in color and fairly thin and transparent. It is NOT sweet-sour sauce – there is no sour or vinegar taste to it at all, it is just extremely sweet, like someone took corn syrup or thickened sugar water and dyed it red. It is also not plum or duck sauce, or at least not like I have had them before. It also is not the sauce thats used for the BBQ pork. I’ve seen this question asked on here before, but none of the recipes given are quite what I’m looking for. If anyone could help me out with this I’d be extremely grateful.

After calling my favorite Chinese restaurant and explaining
to them which sauce i was talking about, that its the one that sits next to the batter fried chicken and that it was bright red, almost transparent and real thick, the answer is…….sweet and sour sauce, BUT she said it doesn’t actually taste sour, thats just what its called. I know EXACTLY which one you are talking about cause i absolutely love it and i mix it with the hot mustard that they keep on the cold bar. Makes for a spicy/sweet dip for the egg rolls, chicken, etc.
