How do you keep crusty French Bread crusty once it cools down?
I’m new to bread baking and I have a really great recipe for a crusty French bread. It bakes beautifully and when it comes out of the oven it’s really crusty with a soft center. However, once it cools down, the crust becomes soft and chewy. Is this normal, or should I be doing something else? Do I need to put it back in the oven for a few minutes to reheat it for it to be crusty again? Help!
wrap it up in a plastic bread bag or aluminum foil…to reheat, wrap in foil and bake in the oven on 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes…
